Ventura Charlin is the sole owner and principal of VC Consultants. She is a seasoned applied statistician and finance & quantitative marketing research analyst based in New York and Santiago, Chile. She has more than twenty-five years of hands-on experience using analytical techniques in a variety of areas, ranging from applied finance to marketing and consumer credit risk.
Additionally, she has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on the application of statistical and modeling techniques to topics as diverse as estimating the risk exposure in art-secured lending transactions, investigating how poorly-designed financial regulations can increase operational risk, assessing the reliability of credit ratings, and exploring the relationship between price and color in the paintings of Mark Rothko.
She holds a Ph.D. in Quantitative Methods in Psychology (Applied Statistics & Psychometrics) from the University of Southern California, as well as a M.S. in Finance from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College (valedictorian) in New York. She also has a degree in psychology from the University of Chile.
